Gender race essay

Note to Readers: Ian Stevenson. MD was a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Virginia who wrote in a very academic style, as his target audience was fellow scientists.  On the IISIS web site, his past life identity cases are presented as children’s past life-reincarnation stories to make his academic work easier to understand. For those interested in appreciating the scientific rigor of his research , such as his use of multiple witnesses to establish corroborated testimony, please refer to the original reports written by Dr. Ian Stevenson.

We cannot hold back from criticizing ideologies that we consider objectionable simply because those who hold them are deemed “marginalized”. We know that’s why so many on the Left are happy to say palpably false things like Islam is “empowering for women” or is “the most feminist of all religions”, while at the same time happily go after Republicans, for Republicans don’t adhere to a given ethnic group or gender. (It’s interesting to ponder what the Left would do if most blacks were Republicans, but that’s a non-issue because the nature of the Right and the self-interest of African- Americans prevents such a circumstance.)

That is pretty entertaining in its absurdity. "Clear and present danger" in truth is supposed to be tied to the fate of an identified person. He directs it at a concept. (A contested concept, no less, since "inclusion" is not defined beyond "diversity of people".) Nor is it clear danger, there is merely "potential (to limit the diversity of people)". To make matters completely ridiculous, harm is no longer physical harm, but some nebulous degree and kind of "skepticism" of others (which he believes is "potentially producing a hostile work environment"). With that logic, say goodbye to Game of Thrones, most of literature, sculptures, scriptures, and video games. (Also, pesky rock music. Clearly porn must go. Let's not fool ourselves, classical music makes for disconcerting concerts, so archaic, they are civilization and its discontents.) All of these may potentially create skepticism and/or antagonism of some vague degree, or - god forbid - a clash of ideas and values. Given the massive scope of the environment "affected" by publication this must be the greatest "looming crisis"* imaginable, one over all civilization. It threatens everyone's inclusion in society. Of course the principle and rule he has outlined is well suited to destroying civilization, which raises the question of whether "inclusion" is the single and ultimate value, or whether it perhaps matters that something of some quality remains to be included in. Now that we don't have any art left, let's be entertained by this professor. Difference creates unrest. We need safety. We need order. We need an order every one belongs to. We need stability. We need a single system of values all are made to adhere to. We need might to decide right. We need what only a Platonic state can ensure. Let us thank this philosopher king, even though this prophet falsely shouts -- "clear and present danger", among other things.
